What a gem of a cabin! The location is perfect and it overlooks the amazing water that’s running. Love the peaceful sound of the river flowing over the rocks. The balcony is such a sweet treat! The cabins have everything you need. Just be prepared to snuggle since they aren’t heated but we had no complaints. Rooms are super clean and have hot water. Yes there is internet and it worked perfect for us;-) The staff is super friendly and really kind. Breakfast isn’t included but you can tell them ahead of time and they will prepare it for you. We will definitely stay here again because you can’t beat the location. You can walk just down the road to restaurants and hikes. If you want a wonderful hike, pay Savegre hotel $10.00 and enjoy the miles of trails. We got up at 5:00 am and had the most amazing experience of seeing a male quetzsal.

This place is truly incredible. I cannot recommend it enough to anybody interested in birds or just a beautiful place to escape the heat of lower elevation costa rica. The family that runs the place are the sweetest, most welcoming people. Carlos took us on a guided walk and helped us find a pair of quetzels as well as other incredible birds. He and all other staff continued to provide incredible service throughout the rest of our stay at the cabinas. The fruit and breakfast options were all delicious as well. I truly cant say enough good things about this place and the people who run it.

Peaceful and relaxing location. The staff is exceptionally polite and friendly. A great place for relaxing. I only have two complaints: 1) the wi-fi is appallingly slow. I ended up having to go to another hotel nearby to work. There's no reason for having 1 megabit internet in this day and age. 2) The rooms only have a single, ungrounded electrical plug. So you can either have a lamp or charge a phone. Again, seems baffling in 2023 to have that kind of electrical installation. Both issues are easy to fix and would bump it up to five stars.

Nice cabinas with great breakfast. We saw the quetzal twice!! Also recommend the quetzal tour with Carlos. On the terrace you can watch hummingbirds.

We stayed there February 2014 and were very satisfied with the accommodations and food. The owners do not speak English, but we somehow managed to communicate. It's definitely not as upscale as some of the lodges in the valley, but it was plenty good enough for us. The rooms are basic but comfortable and we saw the quetzal not 100 yards from our room! Lots of other birds all along this road too. I highly recommend this place. Great value for your money
